Designed in response to a brief set by the RSPB. The zip-tie bird box is designed to be placed in low level trees and vegetation, the perfect place for nesting Robins. The outer shell provides a place to fix the zip-ties whilst the inner wood core provides warmth and protection for our winter friends.
The Robin is unlike most species of bird when it comes to nesting. It’s much more at home nesting in your forgotten shoe or old watering can than high up in the branches of a tree. And this is why the tradition bird box nailed to the trunk of a tall tree isn’t very homely for a Robin.
The zip tie bird box is designed to be placed and fixed in low level foliage, slowly becoming part of the environment over time as the branches weave in and out of its outer shell. Inside is a warm and protective wooden core that provides the perfect place for nesting Robins.
